How to sow Odell's lettuce: Direct seed outdoors, thin to 20cm when seedlings are 3cm tall

The best little green cos lettuce, with small, sweet, crunchy midribs and leaves and a tight little heart. Very fast and easy to grow, best in spring and autumn but good all year round. Came originally from a Methodist minister, the Rev Odell, via an Upper Hutt gardener. Sow in trays in spring and autumn, prick out at 2.5 cm and transplant at 6 cm high at 10 cm diagonal spacing.
