A flat-headed savoy cabbage with crinkled leaf edges whose outer leaves become purple-tinged with the frosts. Excellent flavour and good for all uses. Savoy cabbages are said to be higher in nutrition than other cabbages. Sow in trays in autumn or early spring, prick out at 3 cm and transplant 4 weeks later or at 6 to 8 cm high at 50 cm diagonal spacing. Sits well when planted in early autumn.
