Known Issues

This post documents current known issues which may affect people trying to use the site. This post will be updated from time to time to reflect the current issues.

Currently we're in a state of "soft launch". We are allowing signups, but we're not actively publicising the site as we continue to build features, fix bugs, and make sure things are stable and reliable before we shout about it to the world. We anticipate this full public launch to occur sometime in May. Roughly.

Here is the list of current known issues that are affecting people (we'll skip the ones that aren't really causing problems):

  • On settings page, Firefox users find that their email address is pre-filled in the "Location" field (is this still happening? please confirm!)
  • Firefox users may have trouble opening links in new tabs (eg. cmd-click on OSX). This is a known problem with Bootstrap and we're waiting for them to fix it.
  • Editing plantings with blank planting dates may fail with an error (workaround: it says "Not yet set" in the form's date field -- delete this and all will be well)

You can also see what we're working on or will be working on in future on our tracker. If you would like to help us fix any of these, we're an open source project and would love to have your help! Don't worry if your coding skills are rusty (or non-existent) -- we do pair programming and can pair you up with a mentor. See our wiki for more information on how to get involved.

Bump. Just wanted to let people know about some recently-discovered known issues:

  • On settings page, Firefox users find that their email address is pre-filled in the "Location" field
  • Firefox users may have trouble opening links in new tabs (eg. cmd-click on OSX). This is a known problem with Bootstrap and we're waiting for them to fix it.
